Chocolate Covered Popsicles for Valentine’s Day
I am all about the inexpensive and easy kind of food project this time of year. This dessert is no exception. Take a very affordable popsicle, and add a couple of ingredients to make them extra special and pretty.
You will want to use Budget Saver popsicles for this project. They are don’t break your wallet, but are still a quality find. Available at most grocery stores, their website even offers you a store locator to make sure you can find them:
Ingredients for Chocolate Covered Popsicles
Pink Budget Saver tropic twin popsicles
Chocolate
Valentine’s Day sprinkles
To begin your chocolate covered popsicles, place chocolate in heat safe bowl and set in microwave. Heat for twenty seconds at 50% power. Stir with a spoon, then repeat reheating and stirring of chocolate until completely melted and smooth. Let chocolate sit and cool for a little bit. It should not be warm, but is still melted and not hardening yet.
Take a pink Budget Saver twin popsicle from the freezer, and slice it in half so that it becomes two individual popsicles.
Now, this is where they become chocolate covered popsicles, for reals. Dip a pink popsicle into the chocolate, then quickly cover in sprinkles. Place on plate that has been lined with wax or parchment paper. Set in freezer until they are ready to serve.
That’s it!!! Easy, right? These chocolate covered popsicles for Valentine’s Day can be made by a cook of any experience level. They also work great as a project with the kiddos.
